Your legal guarantee rights

EU notice: legal guarantee

LEGAL GUARANTEE. Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union. Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods do not match the description or do not function as intended. Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer: free repair or free replacement; in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement. Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year. For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code or ask the seller: europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees. What to do if you receive non-conforming goods: 1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue. 2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement. Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.

2. Your rights if the goods are defective

  • Repair or replacement, free of charge. You choose whether the defect is remedied by repair or by delivery of a defect-free item (§ 439 BGB). We bear the costs required for this, in particular transport, travel, labour and material costs.
  • Removal and installation. If you installed the defective part in your vehicle in accordance with its type and intended use before the defect became apparent, we reimburse the necessary costs of removing the defective part and installing the repaired or replacement part (§ 439 (3) BGB).
  • Price reduction or withdrawal. If repair or replacement fails, is refused or is unreasonable for you, you may reduce the purchase price or withdraw from the contract and receive a full refund (§§ 437, 440, 441 BGB).
  • Damages and reimbursement of futile expenses in accordance with the statutory provisions and section 10 of our terms and conditions.

Extension after repair. If we remedy a defect by repair, the limitation period for your claims for defects is extended once by twelve months(§ 475e BGB, for purchase contracts concluded from 31 July 2026). Before remedying a defect we will remind you that you may choose between repair and replacement.

3. How to report a defect

  1. Contact us as soon as possible after you notice the defect.
  2. Please state your order number, describe the defect and, if possible, attach photos. Keep your invoice or order confirmation as proof of purchase.
  3. We will then agree with you how the goods are returned. Please do not send goods back without prior agreement so that we can arrange a free return for you.

Normal wear and tear and damage caused by improper installation, modification or use after delivery are not defects of the goods.

4. Commercial guarantees

We do not give a guarantee of our own. Some manufacturers offer a voluntary commercial guarantee. Its conditions, duration and the procedure for claims are set out in the manufacturer's guarantee statement. A commercial guarantee applies in addition to the legal guarantee; your statutory rights against us remain unaffected and are free of charge.

Where a manufacturer offers a free commercial guarantee of durability for the entire product lasting more than two years, the product page shows the EU GARAN label.

5. Business customers

For entrepreneurs (§ 14 BGB) the limitation period for claims for defects is one year from delivery, with the exceptions stated in section 9 of our terms and conditions. § 377 of the German Commercial Code (HGB) remains unaffected. The presumption in favour of the buyer (§ 477 BGB) and the extension after repair (§ 475e BGB) apply to consumers only.

6. Right of withdrawal and dispute resolution

Your legal guarantee is independent of your 14-day right of withdrawal; see the withdrawal notice.

We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
